Getting Gratiot County Marriage Certificates

In-person requests at the clerk's office are the quickest way to get a certified copy. Bring your photo ID and information about the marriage you are searching for. The fee is $15.00 for the first certified copy and $5.00 for each additional copy of the same record.

Marriage Licenses in Gratiot County

Both applicants must appear in person at the clerk's office. Both must be at least 18 years old. You need a valid photo ID, your Social Security number, and your date and place of birth. You also need to know your parents' full names and birthplaces. Michigan requires a 3-day waiting period before you can pick up the license. Under MCL 551.103, the license is valid for 33 days after it is issued.

Michigan residents pay $20 for the license. Out-of-state applicants pay $30. After the ceremony, the officiant files the completed license with the Gratiot County Clerk. That filing creates the permanent marriage record. Certified copies are available after the record is on file.
