Requesting Iron County Marriage Records
To get a certified copy of an Iron County marriage record in person, go to 2 S 6th St in Crystal Falls during office hours. Bring a valid photo ID. Provide the names of both spouses and the approximate year of the marriage. The fee is $15.00 for the first certified copy and $5.00 for each additional copy of the same record. Pay by cash or check.
Mail requests are also accepted. Write a letter with the party names, marriage year, your contact info, and a copy of your photo ID. Include a check or money order for $15.00 payable to Iron County Clerk, and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Mail to 2 S 6th St, Crystal Falls, MI 49920. Mail processing takes additional time compared to in-person requests.
State copies are available through Michigan MDHHS vital records for $34 per copy. You can order online through VitalChek with an additional service fee. For most Iron County requests, the county office is the faster and less expensive option.

Getting a Marriage License in Iron County
Both parties must appear in person at the clerk's office in Crystal Falls to apply. Both must be at least 18 years old. Bring a valid photo ID, your Social Security number, date and place of birth, and your parents' full names and birthplaces. Michigan's 3-day waiting period applies. The license becomes valid on day four and remains valid for 33 days under MCL 551.103.
The fee is $20 for Michigan residents and $30 for out-of-state residents. After the ceremony, the officiant files the signed license with the Iron County Clerk. That creates the official record. Certified copies can be requested after that point.
